Two local hospitals recently were named to a global publication’s list of the world’s best hospitals.

MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center and Southwest Health in Platteville, Wis., were listed in Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals 2022. MercyOne Dubuque ranked No. 251 on the list of best hospitals in the U.S., while Southwest Health was ranked at No. 290.

The rankings, presented by Newsweek and Statista, used data such as hospital recommendations from peers; surveys measuring patient experience; and patient safety, hygiene measures and treatment quality, a press release from MercyOne states.

The Newsweek list ranked hospitals in 27 different countries, with a total of more than 2,200 hospitals.
