Three area projects are among those receiving Iowa workforce housing tax credits.
Gov. Kim Reynolds and Iowa Economic Development Authority recently announced $38 million in workforce housing tax credits for 59 housing projects across the state. A press release states that the statewide projects are anticipated to create over 2,000 units.
Two projects in Dubuque were awarded funding. CARICH Properties LLC received a total tax credit of $220,440 to create 11 units. Weaver Castle LLC was awarded $98,040 in total tax credits to create five units.
A project in Manchester also was awarded a total tax credit of $1 million. Iowa Economic Development Authority documents state that developer Wes Schulte applied for the credits to create 30 units in the third phase of West Brook Apartments.
Iowa Economic Development Authority received 107 total applications requesting $70 million in tax credits, the release states.
