BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Walmart Inc. today reported fiscal third-quarter net income of $3.11 billion.
On a per-share basis, the company said it had profit of $1.11. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were $1.45 per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 11 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.39 per share.
The world’s largest retailer posted revenue of $140.53 billion in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $135.74 billion.
Walmart expects full-year earnings to be $6.40 per share.
