A Dubuque restaurant soon will close its doors for good.

Hops & Rye, 1108 Locust St., announced its coming closure in a social media post, calling it a “very difficult decision.”

The restaurant indicated that it will serve food from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday — and potentially stay open later if there still are customers in the bar — “until our food and bar product are depleted.”

The restaurant was opened in April 2018 by Teri and Brian Schulz.

“This has been an adventuresome journey, and we’ve thoroughly enjoyed serving and being a gathering place for our amazing customers,” states the online announcement.
