BELLEVUE, Iowa — A Bellevue seed company has acquired another Iowa business.

Cornelius Seed, based in Bellevue, recently acquired Four Star Seed Co., of Logan, Iowa, further expanding Cornelius Seed’s presence in the western part of the state, according to a press release.

Four Star leadership and sales team will join the Cornelius team to help bolster Four Star’s reach and customer base it has built since opening in 1984, the release states.

Cornelius Seed is a regional seed company selling seed primarily in Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota and South Dakota. It opened in 1935 and has been run by generations of the Cornelius family.
