FORT WORTH, Texas — American Airlines Group Inc. today reported a loss of $931 million in its fourth quarter.
On a per-share basis, the company said it had a loss of $1.44. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $1.42 per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of $1.51 per share.
The world’s largest airline posted revenue of $9.43 billion in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $9.32 billion.
American Airlines shares have decreased nearly 4% since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased slightly more than 8% in the past 12 months.
