A regional development corporation will host a job fair in Dubuque next month.
Greater Dubuque Development Corp. will host the job fair from 2 to 5 p.m. Sept. 5 at Steeple Square, 101 E. 15th St. Representatives from up to 50 area employers will be present across several fields.
The fair is being put on in collaboration with IowaWORKS. In addition to employers, representatives from Northeast Iowa Community College will be in attendance to speak on training and upskilling opportunities.
The career fair takes place in the wake of multiple substantial Dubuque layoffs, including the recent announcement of layoffs at Duluth Trading Co. that are expected to impact 74 workers. Additionally, John Deere Dubuque Works has announced layoffs for 133 workers.
Affected employees are encouraged to attend the career fair, according to a GDDC-issued news release, but any individual looking for a job is welcome to attend.
