A pair of nonprofit Catholic health care organizations have announced plans to bring MercyOne properties under one parent organization.
Trinity Health and CommonSpirit Health announced that Trinity Health will acquire all of MercyOne’s facilities and assets. MercyOne has operated under a joint operating agreement between the two nonprofits since 1998, a press release states.
The transaction is expected to be completed this summer.
The MercyOne system includes 16 medical centers, 27 affiliate organizations and more than 420 care sites.
Trinity Health and CommonSpirit Health said they determined that a sole parent was the best arrangement for MercyOne. Trinity Health “will bring unified strategies and operations to MercyOne’s care sites, including one set of system services,” the release states.
MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center and MercyOne Dyersville Medical Center already are owned assets of Trinity Health.
