ORLANDO, Fla. — Darden Restaurants Inc. today reported fiscal third-quarter net income of $247 million.
The company said it had profit of $1.93 per share.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 12 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.09 per share.
The owner of Olive Garden and other chain restaurants posted revenue of $2.45 billion in the period, also falling short of Street forecasts. Ten analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $2.52 billion.
Darden Restaurants expects full-year earnings to be $7.30 to $7.45 per share, with revenue in the range of $9.55 billion to $9.62 billion.
