The interim chief operating officer of a Dubuque hospital will assume the post on a permanent basis.

Michelle Posten, who has been serving as interim COO at MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center since the retirement of Kay Takes at the end of 2024, has been named the hospital’s new COO, according to a press release.

The release states that Posten has more than 18 years of experience in health care administration and operational leadership. She most recently served as associate administrator for MercyOne Genesis Davenport Medical Center for more than 10 years.

The release states that Posten is a certified public accountant and a member of American College of Healthcare Executives. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Western Illinois University and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from St. Ambrose University.
