MILWAUKEE — Harley-Davidson Inc. today reported third-quarter net income of $120.2 million.
The company said it had profit of 78 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 22 cents per share.
The motorcycle maker posted revenue of $1.17 billion in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $964 million, also surpassing Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $889.8 million.
Harley-Davidson shares have decreased 22% since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index has climbed slightly more than 5%. The stock has dropped 25% in the past 12 months.
