The chief executive officer of a Dubuque-based company recently participated in a White House roundtable event devoted to lead-pipe issues associated with America’s drinking water infrastructure.

Rob McDonald, CEO of A.Y. McDonald, attended the event featuring executives from major U.S.-based manufacturers and distributors of water infrastructure parts hosted by the White House on Tuesday, according to a press release.

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law includes more than $50 billion in investments in the nation’s water infrastructure — including $15 billion allocated for lead service-line replacement.

McDonald provided input on the anticipated demand for water infrastructure parts and the readiness of U.S. manufacturers to meet the demand, the release states.

A.Y. McDonald Mfg. Co. is a Dubuque-based, 167-year-old, fifth-generation family business with two manufacturing locations in Iowa, one in Tennessee, and plans to build a state-of-the-art brass foundry in Wisconsin.
