SAN DIEGO — Petco Health & Wellness Co. today reported fiscal first-quarter earnings of $24.7 million.
On a per-share basis, the San Diego-based company said it had net income of 9 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 17 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 15 cents per share.
The pet store chain posted revenue of $1.48 billion in the period.
Petco expects full-year earnings in the range of 97 cents to $1 per share, with revenue in the range of $6.15 billion to $6.25 billion.
