UPS: Q1 earnings snapshot

ATLANTA — United Parcel Service Inc. today reported first-quarter profit of $2.66 billion.

The company said it had profit of $3.03 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were $3.05 per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.87 per share.

The package delivery service posted revenue of $24.38 billion in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $23.9 billion.
