PITTSBURGHÂ American Eagle Outfitters Inc. today reported fiscal third-quarter net income of $152.2 million.
The company said it had profit of 74 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 76 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 60 cents per share.
The teen clothing retailer posted revenue of $1.27 billion in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.23 billion.
American Eagle shares have climbed 37% since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 62% in the past 12 months.
