The parent company of Dubuque’s Diamond Jo Casino reported strong earnings in its recently completed quarter.
Las Vegas-based Boyd Gaming reported total revenue of $894.5 million in the quarter that ended June 30 in an earnings report released Tuesday. That total was up slightly from $893.6 million in the second quarter of 2021. The company reported net income of $146.8 million, or $1.33 per share, for the second quarter, which compares to $113.7 million, or $1 per share, for the same period last year.
The company’s Midwest and South segment, which includes the Dubuque casino, had quarterly revenue of $604 million, down from $618 million in the second quarter of 2021.
Boyd managed to improve companywide operating margins from the first quarter despite inflationary pressures, officials noted.
