ORLANDO, Fla. — Darden Restaurants Inc. today reported fiscal fourth-quarter net income of $281.7 million.
The company said it had net income of $2.24 per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 12 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.21 per share.
The owner of Olive Garden and other chain restaurants posted revenue of $2.6 billion in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Eleven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $2.54 billion.
For the year, the company reported profit of $952.8 million, or $7.39 per share. Revenue was reported as $9.63 billion.
Darden Restaurants expects full-year earnings to be $7.40 to $8 per share, with revenue in the range of $10.2 billion to $10.4 billion.
